At Syracuse University’s Center on Disability and Inclusion (CDI), the past year has been marked by change, growth, and continued dedication to building a more inclusive world. The 2024-2025 CDI Impact Report showcases key initiatives like expanding InclusiveU—welcoming new staff and increasing enrollment—and the launch of the New York State Inclusive Higher Education Technical Assistance Center (IHETAC). The Center also welcomed new graduate researchers and affiliated faculty, diversified its funding streams, and collaborated across the University to enhance access for InclusiveU students. CDI led Syracuse University’s first fully inclusive study abroad trip in Italy, reflecting its commitment to expanding access in all educational experiences.
As CDI reflects on these accomplishments, it continues to look forward, asking, “What’s next?” That forward-thinking spirit drives ongoing efforts to break down barriers and promote opportunities for people with disabilities across all life stages. In the coming year, CDI will launch a new Advocacy Training and Statewide Network, funded by the New York State Council on Developmental Disabilities, and expand technical assistance with new support from SUNY. Syracuse University’s legacy in disability rights and inclusive education remains strong, and supporters are invited to help carry this work forward through the Dream Big Campaign—advancing access, research, and innovation in inclusive education.
