The Mid-State Early Childhood Family and Community Engagement Center (EC-FACE Center) engages in joint planning and implementation of training, technical assistance and professional development with the SA-FACE Center and the RPC. Through this collaborative team approach, the EC-FACE Center aligns its training, professional development, and technical assistance with the core principles of NYSED’s Blueprint for Improved Results for Students with Disabilities to support families, early childhood programs, school districts, and community agencies.

The EC-FACE Center participates in the structure of the OSE Partnership that facilitates systems change efforts and sustainability of those changes within approved early childhood programs and agencies. The EC-FACE Center collaborates with the SA-FACE Center to align work and avoid duplication. Working together, the FACE Centers offer a continuum of support to stakeholders that is responsive and encompasses understanding of the special education process and meaningful family involvement throughout the education system. Collaboration and planning with the RPC and the SA-FACE Center promote capacity building through an intensive team approach that includes families of young children with disabilities and communities as valued partners. Meaningful family engagement and understanding of available early childhood service delivery options within the education system is the cornerstone of the work of the EC-FACE Center.
